Ryuko Hira

Ryuko Hira (born 30 May 1948) is an Indian-born businessman and philanthropist based in Japan. He serves as the president of the HMI Hotel Group and the Ora Group of companies. According to a 2018 report in the Japan Times, he was described as one of the largest individual Indian investors in Japan at that time, with investments estimated at approximately US$2.5 billion and a net worth exceeding US$10 billion. In 2022, he was awarded the Padma Shri, India’s fourth-highest civilian honour, for his work in trade and industry. Indian and Japanese media have reported on his involvement in initiatives focused on economic relations between Japan and India.
