Who is this?
Wu Yize (Chinese: 吴宜泽, approximately WOO EE-TSUH; born 14 October 2003) is a Chinese professional snooker player who is the current World Snooker Champion. After turning professional in 2021, Wu won his first ranking title of his career at the 2025 International Championship, defeating John Higgins 10–6 in the final. This enabled him to enter the top 16 in the world rankings and secured an invitation to the 2026 Masters, where he reached the semi-finals on his debut. Wu went on to win the 2026 World Snooker Championship, defeating Mark Allen 17–16 in the semi-finals and Shaun Murphy 18–17 in the final. He became the second World Champion from Asia, following Zhao Xintong in 2025, and the second-youngest winner in professional snooker history, after Stephen Hendry in 1990.
