Folks need to recognize how much transphobia is driving the debate over the girl dad in the women’s washroom. People have been so conditioned to hate and fear trans people that they now see bathrooms as a “sacred space” such that they will endanger kids to prove a point. This is where hate and division lead. A few years ago no one would have thought twice about a man bringing his two young daughters into the women’s washroom. But years of trans hatred and fear mongering mean people believe only “women” can access that space. People think those two young girls should have been taken into the men’s washroom despite the fact they would have been exposed to male nudity and possible aggression. The girl dad did the right thing. Anyone saying otherwise is pushing a narrative. If a man wants to hurt us, he doesn’t need an excuse to enter our washroom. He will just force his way in.
