Torres Vedras is a medium-sized municipality and city in the West area of the Oeste e Vale do Tejo region of Portugal, located approximately 50 kilometres (31 mi) north of the national and district capital, Lisbon. Historically a part of Estremadura, it is the most populous municipality of the Oeste intermunicipal community, with 83 072 residents at the time of the 2021 Census, in an area of 40,715 square kilometres (15,720 sq mi).
